Solicitation Information

As a reminder, any type of soliciting within the Township requires a permit.  This would include door to door selling of books, windows, home improvement products and similar.  It also includes fireworks and flower stands, as well as pool and hot tub set-ups.  Furthermore, it incorporates donations for specific events that may be held or for specific organizations.

Residents: if someone comes to your door trying to sell you anything or obtain donations for an organization, ask that they show you their Township issued Solicitation permit card.  Any person or business with an approved Solicitation permit must carry their issued permit card with them.  If you suspect anything or if they do not have their permit card, please contact the Township Police Department immediately at (717) 274-0464!

PLEASE NOTE: Charitable organizations are required to register with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Bureau of Charitable Organizations.  Residents can research legitimate, registered organizations by clicking here.  There are exemptions to the list of Charitable Organizations, namely those making less than $25,000 as well as certain Parent Teacher organizations and Fire Companies unless they are paying someone to conduct their fundraisers.  To find the list of charity exemptions, click here.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 717-273-9200.
